When Total Baking Solutions LLC decided to set up shop in Wilmington, Ohio, they probably knew they were coming into a job-thirsty environment. What they may not have expected was to receive nearly 1,000 job
applications for the 60 positions they planned to initially offer. Ready or not, that flood of applications came in quickly once word spread that stable jobs were available.
This community response to the emergence of work opportunities is not isolated to Wilmington, Ohio. All across the country, people are interested in getting back into the work force after being laid off or getting back into stable careers after being pushed out by the many company closings and layoffs over the previous years.
Total Baking Solutions LLC and other new start ups are in an enviable position right now. They have many talented, skilled workers to select from so filling those 60 jobs will not be difficult. The hope for workers around the country is that many more start ups like this will move into town and give jobs to struggling locals. More
Places Are Starting To Skip The Felony Coviction Box On Job Applications

Finally there is some good news for many individuals who are actively seeking employment. It appears that several major cities in Michigan are foregoing the question concerning whether or not a job applicant has EVER
been arrested or found guilty of committing a felony.
There are a number of practical reasons for this initiative to be put into practice. For one thing it prevents automatic discrimination for a non-violent criminal act that may have occurred 5, 10 or even 25 years in the past. This means that more people can look forward to being given a chance to earn a decent and honest living.
Opening up the job pool also means that employers will have more prospects to consider for their available positions. In addition this measure will keep qualified applicants from a job that they could succeed at doing.
Although an individual will not have his job application immediately set aside they could still face background questions by the interviewer later in the practice. However at this time they would be given the opportunity to address the issues surrounding the conviction. Prospective employees will also have time to talk at length about their skills and abilities and can present their case about why they would be a good choice for the job.
At this time the Ban the Box practice only applies to jobs with the city government but other businesses may soon adopt this innovative measure. Today there are already hundreds of thousands of individuals across the US who have been ostracized unfairly due to a mistake in their past. Now there is at last an effort being made to truly rehabilitate and reintegrate all workers into the job force.
Don’t judge any book by the way the cover may appear, and never judge an individual on an incident in their past. This may become a mantra that more businesses are going to adopt in the future.
I was just reading another blog today and read this post “More Public Job Applications Skip The Felony Box” which is good news for many individuals who are actively seeking employment. 75,000 Job Applications Received at Google in One Week

I was reading this news story on how an amazing 75,000 job applications were received at Google in just one short week after the internet guru made an announcement that they were going to put on at least six thousand new employees in the year of 2011. Google is interested in hiring enough individuals to handle the services offered by the display advertising products and the mobile advertising products that it will now offer consumers.
While it is not at all unusual for Google to put on new employees at the beginning of a new year, this has been the largest number of applications that the company has ever received in such a short amount of time.
Individuals that are considered for the positions that Google has available will be those that possess a large range of creativity and intellectual skills. In recent years, Google has always leaned towards those with a knack for innovative creativity, but this year, they are also seeking those that have an extremely high intellectual capacity. While there are several careers offered at Google – from low end positions to high end executive positions, the demand for the jobs is so intense that Google will only fill them with the supply that can meet and exceed the expectations of the virtual world.
